Ido Aharoni

Ambassador Ido Aharoni serves as Global Distinguished Professor for International Relations at New York University’s Faculty of Arts and Science. He is the founder of the Brand Israel Program and a well-known place branding practitioner. He is a co-founder of Emerson Rigby Ltd., Global Ambassador of Genius 100 Visions, a member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide, a Global Ambassador for Maccabi World Union and the Chairman of the Charney Forum on New Diplomacy. In the spring of 1993, Aharoni was appointed to serve under then-Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, as policy assistant to Israel’s chief negotiator with the Palestinians, In that capacity, Aharoni took part in the back-channel negotiations that led to the signing of the Declaration of Principles and the Mutual Recognition Agreement (also known as the Oslo Accords).
