The Location

Charlevoix, La Malbaie and Baie-Saint-Paul

Designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1989, Québec’s Charlevoix region is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. Charlevoix’s dramatic rolling terrain, fjords and bays are both visually stunning and awe inspiring. The region’s crown jewel, historic Malbaie, played host to international leaders in 2018 for the world’s 44th G7 Summit. La Malbaie is a natural amphitheatre where the St. Lawrence River provides spectacular views, from Saint Fidèle to Pointe-au-Pic. Adventure-seekers have sought out the region since 1760, when the Scottish feudal lords John Nairne and Malcolm Fraser began receiving visitors at their estates. Minutes away from La Malbaie lies charming Baie Saint-Paul. Of all the little towns in the region, this beautiful blend of the outdoors and the bohemian (this is Cirque du Soleil’s hometown) is arguably the most alluring.
