How Can You Be Recognized as More Than the “Boss’s Son”?
Listen to Jason Frohlich offer advice on building credibility as a Next Gen.
I think that, well I try my best not to be stuck up or arrogant, I try to listen and to participate in conversations. And I try to engage in initiatives that involve, kind of, everybody’s collaboration. But sometimes though, people will assume no matter what that you are the boss’s son, and that you’ll get away with whatever you want, sometimes you just have to confront that and you have to let people know that you convinced them of some specific decision, not because you’re a son, but because it was the right decision to be made. So it depends on a situation of course, but sometimes, I would say just be yourself, be down to earth, don’t be arrogant, listen to other people and just, I guess, be human.
