Open Communication is Key to Prevent and Resolve Conflict

So, for any family communication and opening communication is key to prevent conflict and then to deal with conflict once you have it. People want to feel included as I mentioned people want to feel important, respected, part of the process so having family meetings on a regular basis, when the kids are quite young, you could do it when the kids are 7,8,9 whatever to include them in your family meeting so they feel part of the process and they learn therefore how to deal with conflict and how to and by the way I should say conflict is merely 2 different or 2 or more different perspectives coming into contact with each other on its own conflict is neither positive nor negative but how we deal with it could either be constructive or destructive and we need conflict to grow in an organization or in a family to have innovation or new ideas you need conflict so what we're focusing on is how to make it a positive experience so in a family, having family meetings and going through nonflict and helping kids or ourselves deal with any conflicts we're having or problems we're having is actually a great process to do and we have nonflict forums in companies where often you have a silo effect in organizations where one division is working in a silo against another division or just not cooperating with another division so as far as families again who are in conflict you might want to bring a nonflict coach we have coaches that focus on family business and could do a retreat with you, you might have to get away from the office or you do want to get away from the office and away from ones territory and really remember what it's like to be a family again One of the main complaints I would hear is I don't have that relationship with my dad or with my son or with my daughter that I used to the businesses has gotten in the way so we really need to take time to remember what it's like to be a family and to have the love and as family members rather than just with the business in the way which could often create conflict.
