Advice for Young Female Entrepreneurs

Zahra F. Rasul advises female entrepreneurs to take risks and trust their intuition.

I would say don’t be afraid to take risks. You have to take risks. And don’t be afraid to put on the big-boy pants and get in that circle with the men. Most of the people I meet in my industry from clients to people in government, in senior positions in universities and schools, a lot of them are still men. And so have the confidence, it doesn’t matter if your 15 years younger than them, you have that power inside you, and listen to that voice, that insight, that intuition that guides you. The other thing I would say is value the relationships that you have around you, not just as tools to help you succeed, but value the people you have around you that are supporting you, whether it’s the person standing behind of you or beneath you, lifting you up, those kinds of relationships are not ones that you can forget about in the process.
